Luxury car rental in Naples with Zeus Prestige starts at Naples Airport (NAP), your hotel, the port, or a villa on the bay. Rent or hire a convertible, a sports car, a supercar or a luxury SUV and explore Campania on your own schedule. A convertible suits the Amalfi Coast and the Sorrento peninsula, and a sports car suits the climb up Vesuvius.
Greek settlers founded Neapolis, the new city, some 2,500 years ago, and the street grid they laid out still carries the old centre along Spaccanapoli. The Teatro di San Carlo opened in 1737 and is the oldest opera house in the world still in use. In the Sansevero Chapel, a marble Christ lies under a veil carved so fine it looks wet. Castel dell'Ovo stands on its islet in the bay, and Vesuvius fills the sky behind everything.
Naples eats standing up: a pizza folded in four, a sfogliatella warm from the oven, an espresso short and sweet at the counter. The city says the Margherita was named here in 1889. From the Posillipo headland the whole gulf opens out, with Capri on the horizon and ferries leaving for it from the port. The driving is all within reach: a volcano, a famous coast road and Greek temples, each inside ninety minutes.
This is the road people picture when they imagine a convertible in Italy. From Naples the motorway runs past Pompeii to the Sorrento peninsula, and beyond Positano the SS163 clings to the cliff for some 40 kilometres through Praiano and Amalfi toward Vietri sul Mare, a UNESCO World Heritage coast since 1997. The road is narrow, the buses are wide, and the sea lies a long way down on your right, so your shoulders tighten through the first few blind bends. Lemon groves scent the air above Amalfi. In high season an alternating number plate system applies between 10:00 and 18:00, so drive it early in the morning or in the evening light, when the road is at its loveliest. The car asks only for an open roof and an unhurried right foot.
Short and sharp, this is a climb for supercars and sports cars. Half an hour from the city, the road from Ercolano climbs the western flank of Vesuvius through pine woods and old lava fields, hairpin after hairpin, to the parking area at around 1,000 metres. From there a footpath leads to the crater rim. The volcano last erupted in 1944, and its eruption in AD 79 buried Pompeii and Herculaneum, both a few minutes from the foot of the road. The corners come quickly and your pulse follows, and at each turn the Bay of Naples swings into the windscreen. On the way down the scent of pine drifts into the cabin, and the car feels entirely alive.
The run south is a day for comfort: a grand touring car or a roomy luxury SUV. The motorway passes Salerno and reaches Paestum in about an hour and a quarter, where three Greek temples from the 6th and 5th centuries BC stand in open fields, among the best preserved anywhere. The plain around them is buffalo country, and the dairies sell mozzarella made that morning. Beyond lies the Cilento coast, quieter than Amalfi, with Agropoli and Santa Maria di Castellabate on the water. The cabin keeps its cool and its quiet through the afternoon heat, the seats are kind after a long lunch, and the car covers the road home as if it were half the distance.

Yes. Naples Airport (IATA: NAP, ICAO: LIRN) has a General Aviation Terminal for private flights. We deliver your self-drive hire car to that terminal, ready when you land.
Yes, with some planning. On the SS163 between Vietri sul Mare and Positano, an alternating number plate system restricts cars between 10:00 and 18:00 on set dates. In 2026 these were Easter week, weekends and public holidays in June, July and October, and every day in August and September. Outside those hours the road is open to all, and hotel guests on the coast may travel on their arrival and departure days with a booking. The dates are set each year, so check before you travel.
A convertible suits the Amalfi Coast and the Sorrento peninsula, the Vesuvius road is one for a supercar or sports car, and Paestum and the Cilento make a comfortable day in a luxury SUV or grand tourer.
Positano is about 60 kilometres from Naples. Allow an hour and a quarter to an hour and a half, and longer in summer traffic.
Yes. Pompeii and Vesuvius are half an hour away, Sorrento about an hour, and Paestum a little over an hour. Rome is a little over two hours north by motorway and Bari about three hours east.
